Referees

St. Croix Soccer Club Referee Information

The St. Croix Soccer Club recognizes that competent referees contribute to a positive player experience. The Club further recognizes through refereeing, many other youths can participate in and enjoy this game. As a result, the Club takes these steps to recruit, train and retain referees.

  • The Club maintains a permanent position of Referee Coordinator. This person recruits, trains, monitors and evaluates referees. The Referee Coordinator also assists referees when they encounter difficult situations with players, coaches or parents.
  • The Club has a referee mentoring program, with both senior and junior mentors.
  • Referees are recruited via the Club website, e-mails, mailings to current and past players, and announcements in the local media.
  • An initial referee course is provided to prospective referees every other year. The Club hosts a re-certification course each year, using trainers from the Minnesota State Referee Association.
  • Referees are compensated in line with other clubs.
  • The Board of Directors works to make refereeing a positive experience. Abuse of referees by players, parents or coaches is not tolerated.

Rescheduling a home game

Begin the rescheduling process by contacting the opposing coach or team manager and agreeing on 2 potential days for the reschedule game.

After agreeing on the alternatives please fill out the online form found to the right.

If you are unable to acces the online form here is the information that is needed:

Coach First and Last Name:
Email Address:
Phone Number:
Game Number:
Home Team Code:
Opponent Team Code:
Original Date:
Original Time:
Original Field:
Proposed Date(s):
Proposed Time(s):
Comments:

Send to c-hase@comcast.net and kathletics01@yahoo.com

Games to be rescheduled due to religious holidays, tournament weekends, weather issues, field conflicts, or any other reason are processed in the same manner. This is the ONLY method to cancel or reschedule.

Upon submission of the form, e-mail is sent to the Field/Referee Scheduler. The Referee Scheduler will cancel the referee for the original game. The Field Scheduler will allocate a field slot and inform the submitter and the Referee Scheduler the details of time, place, and level for the rescheduled game, and a referee or referees will be assigned. Coaches can be confident every effort will be made to get referees for these make-up games.

Note that this is not an instantaneous process! Consider providing several days notice at minimum -- a week or more is better. More lead time is a good thing.

**NOTE THAT IT IS A 3 BUSINESS DAY TURN AROUND FOR RESCHEDULES**

An example is if you send a request in at noon on Friday; do not expect an answer until Wednesday of the following week.
